Sony PlayStation 5 Console Prototype Listed And Sold Via Yahoo Auctions

The sale of prototype equipment is nothing new in the memorabilia collecting world. Recently, an individual in Japan was seen to have sold several prototype models of the Sony PlayStation 5 console at a relatively reasonable price.

These prototype consoles are typically released by Sony to allow early game developers to develop games for the console before it is launched. It can't just be used because it requires a limited license that needs to be requested from Sony and the console is just on loan to these developers.

The prototype console sold is the "PS5 Prototype 2" which is seen to come with the same design as the PS5 Prototype 1 but with older software. Interestingly, there are several models of this console being sold through Yahoo Auctions in Japan, and Sony doesn't seem to be paying much attention to the sales of these consoles.

These prototype consoles are sold for 800 thousand yen, and there is one Prototype 1 console that sells for 551 thousand yen, and another Prototype 2 console that shows a bid that sells for a starting price of 600 thousand yen.

We're sure that Sony is well aware of this, as these bids appear to be present for a very short period of time, and this appears to allow these consoles to sell at a faster rate for those who bid on them.
