Sony Xperia 1 V is Sony's new flagship device in 2023. In Malaysia this device is sold at a price of RM6399. Those who purchase from 28 June to 31 July will receive a set of Sony WH-1000XM5 headphones worth RM1799 for free along with a protective frame and screen protector.
Usually every smartphone package will have the phone, SIM pin, USB cable and manual and safety book. Some other brands will offer a single charger and maybe even a protective case. But, do you know what you will receive when you buy this device worth RM6399 after July 31?
Sony only includes the phone and manual in the purchase box. No SIM pin due to the design that does not require a PIN to open the SIM tray, no USB cable, no security book, no charger and no protective frame. For packaging only have a box cover with an environmentally friendly box design.
This may not be acceptable to some users because spending more than RM6000 is not a small value. Even Apple that sells the iPhone at a higher price still includes a cable. Sony's reason here is to reduce the problem of electronic waste and other waste. Cables and chargers can be used from older models or from any that support Power Delivery 30W. The frame is not included due to the unique design of the device on the side for grip and the already durable Gorilla Glass Victus 2 screen.
What do you think about Sony's decision and are you going to buy or already bought the latest Sony Xperia 1 V?
