Spotify is already known for their audio offerings, including songs, music, podcasts, audio books and so on. Now, apart from that, Spotify also reportedly wants to add video display features, especially focusing on music videos.
Today, Spotify does include video support, but is limited to podcasts, as well as 30-second promotional videos by artists. With the addition of music videos, it will make Spotify compete with YouTube in that arena – and at the same time make it easier for users to discover music videos directly on the platform.
Spotify's rival service, Apple Music already includes this feature, and the addition of music videos will bring it on par in terms of offerings. In addition to music videos, Spotify was also previously rumored to introduce a more expensive paid plan, including support for high-resolution audio features.
