Tesla today has officially announced their participation in the electric vehicle arena in Malaysia, and at the same time announced the Tesla Model Y offering for the local market.
Tesla Model Y comes in three different variations, namely Model Y Rear-Wheel Drive, Model Y Long Range, and Model Y Performance. These three models will be shown to the public at Pavilion KL until 31 October 2023.
Tesla Model Y can be ordered directly through the Tesla website, it is sold at a price starting at RM199,000 for the most basic model and rising to RM246,000 for the Long Range model and RM288,000 for the Model Y Performance. This is for models with the basic Autopilot system only.
Tesla Malaysia
For the addition of Enhanced Autopilot, users need to make an additional payment of RM16,000, in addition to FSD, an additional payment of RM32,000 is required. All orders placed will begin to be delivered to buyers starting in early 2024.
Parallel to this announcement, Tesla announced that it will open 8 Tesla Superchargers at Pavilion KL. Apart from Pavilion KL, Tesla also aims to open it gradually in other areas around the country.
Through the Tesla Supercharger, it will allow the Model Y to be charged for use as far as 120km in just 5 minutes.
