Tesla started offering their electric vehicles directly through their official website today. Only the Tesla Model Y is offered at this time and the Model 3 has a button for interested customers to receive notifications when it is offered later. The launch of this official site was reported by Paul Tan's automotive site early this morning.
For those interested in buying the Model Y directly from Tesla, it is sold at a price starting at RM199,000 for the most basic model and rising to RM246,000 for the Long Range model and RM288,000 for the Model Y Performance. This is for models with the basic Autopilot system only.
For Enhanced Autopilot this additional package is sold at a price of RM16,000 and for Full Self-Driving the buyer has to pay RM32,000 which increases the price of the car to RM320,000 for this flagship specification. Customizing the color of interior trim and tire rims can also be done through the official Tesla Malaysia website.
Today Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim will have a video call meeting with Elon Musk to discuss Tesla's business in Malaysia.
