The Government Targets Toll-Free Crosses Can Be Implemented By 2025

The Ministry of Public Works (KKR) is ready to take steps for the implementation of highway routes with tolls without barriers in a few years. Sharing about its development, KKR said the steps for it are in process, and are expected to be implemented as early as the end of 2024.

In parallel, the government will implement an open toll payment system as early as this September. Through it, a number of highways will accept payments through debit and credit cards, in addition to using existing TNG cards. This will give users more options in managing their payments.

Even before this, it has been said that a concept test for a toll system without bars will be carried out as early as October 2023, on the Sungai Besi Expressway.

In addition to support for credit and debit cards, the government is also looking to add support for digital wallets in the future.
