Anthony Loke, the Minister of Transport has now shared that the government will introduce a special registration plate number for electric vehicles. The number plate for the vehicle will start with the letters EV, followed by a number.
With this move, it is expected to differentiate electric vehicles from non-electric vehicles. Today, it is said that there are around 10,000 electric vehicles on the road.
The use of this different number plate will make it easier for people to know it's an electric vehicle, and help in some situations and protocols. For example, if you want to put out a fire involving a vehicle and so on.
The number plate of this vehicle is expected to start with the letters EV, and is offered from the numbers 1 to 9999 like a normal number plate, and is expected to continue with EVA, EVB and so on.
