In addition to the Apple Macbook Air 15″, Mac Studio and Mac Pro also went on sale in Malaysia today. The Mac Studio is a desktop computer that tries to power Apple's M2 Ultra and M2 Max chips. With the use of the M2 Ultra, Mac Studio has up to 2x the performance of the M2 Max. The M2 Ultra chip comes with a 24-core CPU and a 76-core GPU.
The memory offer is extreme up to 192GB RAM and storage up to 8TB. Each new Mac Studio can also support connection to 8K monitors or up to 6 Pro Display XDR monitors each supporting 6K resolution.
There are various I/O such as Thunderbolt 4, HDMI, 3.5mm audio jack, SDX memory card reader, 2x USB-A and also 10GB LAN. All these components are included in a frame that is still the same size as the previous Mac Studio.
The Mac Pro, on the other hand, comes with the latest M2 Ultra chip, and also includes PCIe support – making it easy to customize according to needs, such as cards for audio, digital interfaces and so on. With this Apple Silicon chip as well, Apple says it operates with higher power and faster than previous Intel chips.
Completing the Mac Pro is also a connection of three USB-A ports, two HDMI ports with support up to 8K resolution at a rate of 240Hz, 2 10Gb Ethernet ports, and an audio jack. It also includes up to eight Thunderbolt 4 ports together.
The sale price of the new Mac Studio starts at RM9,499 while the Mac Pro is sold at a price starting at RM32,999.
