Last night Samsung launched their new smart watches, the Samsung Galaxy Watch6 and Watch6 Classic. The watch also runs the new One UI 5 Watch operating system. What is interesting is that it is built based on Wear OS 4, a new generation smart watch operating system that is exclusive to Samsung only at this time. Even the Pixel Watch itself still runs Wear OS 3.
Even Wear OS 3 is not yet widely distributed, it is quite interesting to see that Samsung and Google's close relationship can provide early access to the new operating system. Wear OS 4 should support phone-like backup and restore and also eliminate the need to reset the watch to use on new smartphones.
