Twitter has been pushing to bring built-in video and voice calling features like those supported on WhatsApp. Today Twitter designer Andrea Conway showed off her interface design for the first time.
It is accessed through the DM screen with the option to make voice and video calls through a special menu. When a call is made, there are options to mute the audio, block the camera, block the video and end the call. A small square-shaped window to see the face of the caller can also be seen. Its design is similar to the FaceTime feature that is popular among users of the Apple ecosystem.
Conway added that this feature can be turned off if you don't want to receive spam voice and video calls. Restrictions on who can make calls to the user will also be given in the application settings. There is still no date when this feature will be rolled out and whether it will be exclusive to Twitter Blue subscribers.
