Threads Hits Over 2 Million Users After Just Two Hours of Launch

Meta launched Threads just a few hours ago and the competitor to Twitter from Mark Zuckerberg seems to have the right move to sink Elon Musk's social media ark. In just two hours, Threads already has over 2 million users. This is certainly helped by Threads being launched simultaneously in 30 major countries of the world and only requiring an Instagram account.

The news about the number of Threads users was shared by Zuckerberg a while ago through his Threads account and at this time the actual number of users is definitely higher. Another advantage of Threads is that brand and celebrity accounts don't have to go through the identity verification process again. On the other hand, the authentication passed using Instagram is imported. Even more interesting for brands is that they don't have to pay at all to have their accounts verified unlike Musk did on Twitter.

It's too early to say Threads is the best alternative to Twitter at this time. But based on early response to Threads' timeline, we can see Threads has the potential to kill Twitter the way Facebook killed MySpace nearly two decades ago. Both have the involvement of Mark Zuckerberg.
