Threads launched two weeks ago as a competitor to Twitter. Within five days it had 100 million user accounts. But according to data from Sensor Tower, the number of daily users has decreased by 20% while the average minutes spent in the application by each user is 10 minutes equivalent to a 50% reduction.
Most likely the number of users that increased last week is because many want to see for themselves what Threads can offer. With the platform not yet having support for chronological timelines, GIFs and other features that are now standard on Twitter many may no longer use them.
Adam Moserri has already said that chronological timeline, hashtag support and multi accounts will be provided in the near future. It needs to be done soon before existing users get fed up with the Threads faucet not offering the Twitter-like experience it promised.
