Threads Not Launching In Europe Due To Personal Data Usage Issues

Threads will launch tomorrow as a competitor to Twitter. Some users have already been able to access this service earlier because they received tickets inside Instagram. With Twitter still not back up and running since last weekend, Threads is seen as an alternative for those who are tired of Elon Musk's antics.

But according to a report by Independent.ie, Threads will not be launched in European Union (EU) countries in the near future. This is because Threads collects a variety of personal information such as health data, addresses, advertising identities, phone numbers, address books and more.

Strict EU laws do not allow Facebook and Instagram data to be used for advertising purposes arbitrarily. Meta representatives did not provide an official response as to whether Threads will be offered to the EU market in the future.
