Twitter is one of the social sites that is often used to get the latest information, including news - in addition to discussing a number of issues through it openly involving many people. Since being taken over by Elon Musk, Twitter has shown various changes, making some users who do not like the steps taken - at the same time going to other alternative platforms.
However, before the introduction of Threads, Twitter did not have such a strong and stable competitor, and everything changed after the launch of Threads last week by Meta. It only took around 5 days to reach the figure of 100 million user accounts.
This transition was accelerated when Twitter itself faced a crisis last week with changes to usage limits, in addition to changes to TweetDeck.
Cloudflare shared that traffic to Twitter is seen decreasing day by day. Besides that, now SimilarWeb also stated that the traffic and usage of Twitter is decreasing day by day. In fact, traffic to the web dropped 5% the week Threads launched. On a year-on-year basis, it fell as much as 11% last week.
User loyalty in using Twitter is also said to be reduced compared to before.
For now, it's not known how Twitter will overcome this, and attract users back to their platform – while continuing to grow it.
As for Threads itself, it is still in the early stages of introduction – and has not yet been fully launched in Europe. Perhaps with marketing and promos via Instagram and Facebook later, we will see Threads continue to surpass Twitter's active user numbers in the near future.
Last time, it was said that Twitter had around 238 million daily active users.
