Twitter Blue subscribers can now download videos uploaded to the platform. We noticed this early this morning when trying to upload a video. Twitter's FAQ page on the video upload feature has also been updated to explain how to download as well as privacy settings.
Videos can only be downloaded by Twitter Blue customers by pressing the three-dot menu button and pressing the "Download" button. Any videos uploaded by users under 18 cannot be downloaded for security reasons. Users also cannot download videos from accounts set as private.
Additionally Twitter users can also set not to allow their videos to be downloaded. But if this option is taken, the video cannot be played when embedded on a website for example. Finally, videos uploaded after July 25th can only be downloaded. At this time this feature is only given to iOS app users only.
