The issue of CPU vulnerability is usually a very complicated problem, and often causes huge problems not only for electronic brands but also for consumers because it can facilitate hacking and cause various other computer security issues.
Recently, it has been reported that the AMD Zen 2 series of processing chips, consisting of AMD Ryzen 3000, 4000, AMD Ryzen Threadripper 3000 and a number of AMD EPYC server machine CPU series are now found to present with a new vulnerability called "Zenbleed".
In short, what this Zenbleed vulnerability can do is that it can steal any type of data, whether it is encrypted or not through a memory leak from the CPU side and sent back to the hacker. This information that can be stolen is like website account login details, encryption keys and so on.
Information about this vulnerability was found by a Google security researcher named Tavis Ormandy and said that this vulnerability can be exploited not only through ordinary computers, but also server machines used for various other types of processes such as virtual machines, sandboxes (sandboxes) and cloud computers, making it a really serious vulnerability.
AMD has also issued a statement about this vulnerability, and is aware of its dangers. For now, they have confirmed that they will be introducing a security update for the AMD EPYC 7002 series of processing chips, but for their AMD Ryzen 3000, 4000 and APU-APU series of processing chips, this security update will only come around the end of this year.
For now AMD has not yet confirmed if the Sony PlayStation 5 and Microsoft X-Box Series X and S game consoles are affected by this vulnerability, but AMD is expected to make another announcement about it.
