8BitDo is a brand of accessories for Nintendo game consoles, specifically for the Nintendo Switch console. They are quite famous for their game controller accessories and also Bluetooth adapters that allow third party game controllers like Dualshock and Xbox controllers to be used with the console.
Recently, they have introduced the 8BitDo Retro Mechanical Keyboard which is themed on the Nintendo Entertainment System or NES video game console. This keyboard comes in Tenkeyless size. In terms of switch offerings, this keyboard is seen using Kailh Box White mechanical switches which can be removed if you want to use other switches.
The uniqueness of this keyboard can be seen in terms of its keyboard design, where it comes with two versions, namely N Edition (Nintendo Entertainment System themed) and Fami Edition (based on Super Famicom). The N Edition model features red keys, while the Fami Edition has a Japanese alphabet and brown color theme.
In the meantime, this keyboard also comes with support for wired and wireless connections via Bluetooth and 2.4GHz WiFi, depending on what the user wants to use. In terms of battery, it has a usage life of 200 hours on a single full charge, and takes 4 hours to charge from empty to full.
Pre-orders for the 8BitDo Retro Mechanical Keyboard are already open through the 8BitDo website at a price of $99 (~RM450) and will go on sale publicly on September 20.
