According to NASA's original plan, the Artemis III Mission that will return humans to the lunar surface will be launched in December 2025. Now NASA is considering delaying the Artemis III mission due to issues with the Starship system built by SpaceX.
Last April the Starship exploded when it was launched in the first stage test. Not only did it fail to reach orbit before being destroyed, its launch site in Texas was also badly damaged by the power of the Super Heavy rocket, the most powerful ever produced in the history of aerospace. SpaceX has not been able to prove that the Starship can land on the surface of the moon, which is necessary for the success of the mission.
The Artemis II mission is scheduled for November 2024 with a crew of four. In this mission for the first time the crew will be taken in the Orion capsule to go around the moon. The Artemis I mission was successful last year when it carried a capsule containing only statues instead of a human crew.
