HBO started offering their two series Ballers and Insecure on Netflix Malaysia last week. On September 15, two more of their leading series namely Band of Brothers and The Pacific will be offered on Netflix Malaysia.
The series Band of Brothers and The Pacific both revolve around the experiences of paratroopers and US marines during World War II. It takes inspiration from a true story and is adapted from a book written by Stephen E Ambrose. Band of Brothers is still considered the best war series ever produced and in 2001 was also the most expensive series with a cost of $100 million.
The Pacific is a series from 2010 that also received the touch of producers Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks. Both series became a springboard for actors such as Damian Lewis, Michael Fassbender, Tom Hardy, James McAvoy, Rami Malek, and James Badge Dale to start their acting careers in Hollywood.
Warner Bros. Discovery will no longer only offer their original content on HBO GO and Max to increase the company's bottom line. This opens the door for other series such as Game of Thrones, Westword, The Sopranos and The Wire to possibly be offered on other platforms in the near future.
