Brave, a web browser that focuses on privacy and security, is now introducing an update to their search engine, Brace Search. Brave Search previously only offered link text-based searches, and now adds image and video search support – while remaining focused on privacy.
According to Brave all searches will remain within Brave's own ecosystem, giving users faster results and a guarantee of privacy that is not available on other web browsers that rely on third-party services.
For information, previously when performing an image search on Brave Search, it would take the user to Google search and display the results there. With the addition of this feature, it makes it easier for users to continue searching the Brave ecosystem.
For now image and video search on Brave Search still only offers basic search. In the future they will add a search feature that can filter content by categories such as licensing and image size ratio.
