CAAM : Unlicensed Drones Prohibited From Flying In National Day Celebration Areas Until August 31, 2023

The Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM) is now issuing a warning, so that the public does not fly any drone without approval in crowded areas in conjunction with preparations for the 2023 National Day celebration.

This reminder is issued to avoid any untoward incident during the Merdeka Day celebration. This is also in line with avoiding any risk of accidents involving Royal Malaysian Air Force aircraft that are conducting low formation flight training in a number of focus areas until 31 August 2023.

The public is reminded not to fly drones until August 31, 2023. At the same time, it is also reminded that all aviation activities including the operation of drones are subject to Section 4 of the Civil Aviation Act 1969 (Act 3); Regulation 98, Regulation 140-144, Malaysian Civil Aviation Regulations and Civil Aviation Directives (CADs).
