The AORUS brand by GIGABYTE is well-known for its series of computer components, a selection of gaming laptops and also various other computer hardware.
Recently, the brand is seen to have introduced their latest SSD called AORUS Gen5 12000, which is a M.2 2280 size PCIe 5.0 SSD that comes with a cooling block to ensure that this storage always operates in optimal conditions.
For now, this SSD is seen with only one storage offering, which is 2TB, but it has data reading and writing rates of 12GB/s and 11GB/s. This SSD uses a Phison PS5026-E26 SSD controller and a 232-layer superimposed 3D-TLC NAND memory chip as well as 4GB of LPDDR4 memory built as a cache for faster data access.
Not only that, this AORUS Gen5 12000 SSD storage also supports the DirectStorage system which allows this SSD to achieve high speed but use low CPU power.
The PCIe 5.0 SSD is seen to come with fast performance, but a common issue is that it always operates at high temperatures, so it comes with a Thermal Guard Extreme cooler provided, which will increase the size of this SSD and also make it a little heavier, but will ensuring that this SSD will not overheat.
For now, GIGABYTE has not yet confirmed when they will start selling this storage, and also the price tag.
