Google Assistant's capabilities will increase with the use of artificial intelligence (AI). According to an Axios report this morning, Google has begun developing a new Assistant that integrates a generative AI based on the language model (LLM) to provide capabilities comparable to Bard and ChatGPT.
The popularity of ChatGPT since the end of last year forced major technology companies to also release their latest AI to the public. Previously Google had restructured the Assistant team by giving it entirely to Bard to ensure it was more competitive. It is still unknown when this Assistant with AI will be launched. The ones found so far are focused on delivering it to mobile devices first.
Assistant vice president of engineering Jianchang Mao has left the company while his Assistant vice president of engineering Amar Subramaya now leads Bard's engineering division.
