Many people don't have time to read long texts in 2023. Shorter and more concise content is an option to make it easier for new topics to be covered in a short time. Google today announced a feature that summarizes article content on web pages as well as a new definition explanation using generative artificial intelligence (AI).
This new feature was introduced under the Search Generative Experience (SGE) umbrella that was introduced to users three months ago. Continuing with the content summary feature, SGE will read the content of a web page before producing a short note on the subject being presented. Users can simply read this summary or press some options that isolate more content according to the topic.
Then when the search results on a particular topic are displayed on the screen, some phrases that may not be understood will have underlines. Touching this phrase will display its definition in a pop up box. These new features are provided to users on Android, iOS and desktop if the user registers interest through Google Search Labs.
