Microsoft introduced the Big Chat feature on their search engine a few months ago with the hope that it will make it the search engine of choice because of its interesting intelligence features. But according to Statcounter's latest data, Microsoft's efforts have not brought any improvement to Bing because Google Search is still too far ahead.
Last July 92.7% of internet users used Google to search. In second place are Bing (2.99%), Yandex (1.37%), Yahoo (1.17%) and Baidu (0.94%). It is quite a shame for Microsoft their search engine holds a very small market globally even after spending big.
In Malaysia, Google dominates with 97.21% followed by Bing (1.77%), Yahoo (0.74%), Petal Search (0.08%) and Duck Duck Go (0.07%). This does not mean that Google will continue to remain at the top. History shows that two decades ago Yahoo and Altavista were the two dominant search engines but now Generation Z doesn't even know they exist.
As we previously reported, Generation Z uses Instagram and TikTok as information search engines. In just one generation, maybe the term "try Google" will change to "try TikTok" as well.
