Google Meet Gets AI Duet Feature That Attends Meetings And Takes Notes For You

Who here enjoys participating in teleconference meetings? We only got one or two hands because post-pandemic many people feel that online meetings are less attractive. For those who don't like participating in teleconference sessions, Google Meet now comes with the support of artificial intelligence (AI) Duet AI which can not only take notes automatically but also become a substitute if you don't have time to attend the meeting online.

Generate slides using Duet AI

Duet AI can take notes of meetings while they are in progress. With this, the important information discussed can be shared with everyone after the meeting. One more thing, if you are late to join the meeting, you can ask Duet AI to provide a list of what topics have been discussed so that you don't miss out.

For those who need to make presentations in meetings, Duet AI can be instructed to produce slides based on documents stored in Google Drive and personal Gmail. This can then be shared in a Google Meet session.

Take meeting notes in Meet

There is also a Duet AI feature to be a substitute if unable to attend the meeting. But at this time Google does not provide an example of how it will be done. Whether it's using an avatar of your face or just being present and taking notes.

Finally, Google Meet can also display subtitles in real-time in 18. Users can directly instruct Duet AI to translate them into an understood language in real-time as well. Duet AI for Google Workspace can be tried starting today to all global users for free. After the trial period a fee of $30 per month will be charged for one user.
