Google Messages Will Support Sending Emergency Messages Using Satellites

The 14-year-old iPhone series supports the feature of sending emergency messages using satellite in the absence of cellular network or WiFi. On Android devices this feature is only supported by a small number of Huawei devices. This feature will also be supported on Android devices through Qualcomm Snapdragon Satellite which is not yet widely used. Today the Google Messages interface with the emergency message feature has been leaked via Neil Rahmouni's hack.

Previously, the emergency telecommunication support code using satellite was found in the Android 14 code. With this interface, it is clear that the satellite communication feature will only be activated on devices with the Android 14 operating system later.

Since the satellite telecommunication feature was activated on the iPhone 14 device since November last year. There have been several incidents of device owners being rescued even without cellular support. In the forest fire incident in Hawaii last week, for example, there were victims who managed to make calls after the island's cellular system was down.
