You may rarely hear of this smartphone brand, which is Infinix. Lately, Infinix has been trying to make a name for itself in the Malaysian market offering premium smartphones at affordable prices. Infinix is also a brand under Transsion which is the world's fifth largest device manufacturer.
Recently I tried the Infinix GT 10 Pro which is their first gaming device and an attempt to clone Nothing Phone (1) because of the design of the back panel and also the LED lighting system. I also dubbed this device as Nothing Clone (1) and surprisingly it provides a very satisfying usage experience.

SCREEN
The size of the AMOLED screen on this device is quite large at 6.67″. It supports FHD+ resolution, comes with a 120Hz refresh rate and uses an even thin bezel design. Although it doesn't support HDR10+ display, GT 10 Pro is still fun to use to watch videos on any streaming platform due to the vivid colors of the screen.
The screen is also always smooth and rarely lags. The refresh rate system offered is quite stable. My main problem is the screen is not bright enough for use in sunlight. The OLED panel quality of this device also still can't match what Redmi has to offer, but judging by the overall package offered on this device – there's not much to complain about.
FINGERPRINT SCANNER
The usual under-screen fingerprint scanner. Not quite as fast as the competition, which shows where smart roads are being taken to keep costs down. In my opinion, Infinix should just put a fingerprint scanner on the power button because it is proven to be fast and the price is also reduced. This is done by Realme, Samsung, Oppo and many other manufacturers.
DESIGN
Nothing Clone (1) is what I see when taking this device out of the box. Even Infinix when announcing the presence of this device also drew comparisons with Phone (1). We are sorry to inform you that the back design of the Infinix GT 10 Pro is purely engineering. It's just a pattern printed with a 3D effect. This design makes the GT 10 Pro look more elegant and matches their gaming theme.
Behind the LED light system are just strips on the camera bump. There are five types of animations for this LED light such as lighting up when launching X Arena's first mode, receiving notifications, phone calls and can move according to the rhythm of the music being played.
The GT 10 Pro uses an overall flat design with every physical button on the right side, SIM card slot on the left side, on top is just the speaker grill and the microphone hole, finally there is another microphone hole, a USB-C slot and a 3.5 audio jack port mm.
The giant camera bump holds three camera sensors along with an LED flash. The finish of the device is also quite smooth and feels like plastic but still feels solid and heavy giving the illusion of GT 10 Pro as a premium device. The thin bezel screen design reminds me of Nothing and it's quite interesting that it can be achieved on a device of this category.
USAGE AND SOFTWARE – XOS FOR GT
Infinix GT 10 Pro runs XOS for GT operating system based on XOS Android 13. As a first time user of this brand I was surprised that XOS is the most holy system after Nothing OS. There are no silly and inappropriate fat apps. There are only a few Infinix apps that can be removed but it's not necessary because they are useful apps.
XOS is a combination of MIUI, Funtouch OS and Color OS because that's the user experience I got from using this device and that's what I see on the interface design of this Infinix operating system. I really like that this XOS doesn't take me a lot of time to understand every feature and function it has to offer. It is a system that is easy to use and not dizzying like other Chinese device manufacturers.
XOS also offers some interesting features and functions. Here is the list;
Lightning Multi-Window
Gesture controlled multi-tasking feature.
MemFusion
Gives an extra 8GB of RAM virtually.
Smart Panel
A special panel that displays quick access to favorite applications.
Social Turbo
Gives WhatsApp the features of beauty mode, voice changer, sticker creator and more.
Game Mode
Game Mode
XArena, Infinix's premium mod that makes premium performance higher.
Backlight Effect
Mini-LED strips that move and light up according to notifications or music beats.
BENCHMARK – DIMENSITY 8050
Like Dimensity 7050 which was rebranded from Dimensity 1080, Dimensity 8050 is a new name for the old chips which are Dimensity 1300 and Dimensity 1200. Even so it is a more powerful chip than Dimensity 7050 due to the use of CPU 1x 3.0 GHz Cortex-A78, 3x 2.6GHZ Cortex -A78 and 4x 2.0GHz Cortex-A55 paired with Mali-G77 MC9 GPU.
However, the Infinix GT 10 Pro with 8GB RAM should theoretically have lower performance than the realme 11 Pro+ (Dimensity 7050) and. In benchmark tests the GT 10 Pro received a higher score and in the same usage experience, the GT 10 Pro was smoother and faster. Let's compare GT 10 Pro with Redmi Note 12 Pro+ (Dimensity 1080). Poco X5 Pro 5G (Snapdragon 778G) and iQOO Z7 (Snapdragon 782G).
Geekbench 6
Infinix GT 10 Pro – 1103/2980
iQOO Z7 – 1125/3001
Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G – 960 / 2288
Poco X5 Pro 5G – 781 / 2892
Antutu 3D
Infinix GT 10 Pro – 592,127
iQOO Z7 – 588,831
Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G – 463,849
Poco X5 Pro 5G – 529,942
3D Mark Wild Life Extreme
Infinix GT 10 Pro – 1,312
iQOO Z7 – 808
Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G – None
Poco X5 Pro 5G – None
When playing for the first time on the GT 10 Pro it was really fun, satisfying and the device was difficult to heat up. The more expensive and higher memory Realme 11 Pro+ suffers from unwanted lag and overheating issues. The iQOO Z7 also received a better score with more secure use. Here it is proven that software optimization is important.
TELEPHONY And GPS
The Infinix GT 10 Pro is on the market to support 5G which I'm sure this device will have no problem with. I am on a Maxis plan and when testing this device 5G is still not offered yet. Despite that the performance of 4G, VoLTE, VoWiFi and phone calls on it works very smoothly. The use of GPS is also very good, but Waze and Google Maps have a slightly slow performance.
CAMERA
The camera capabilities of the device ii are not what I expect to change the industry standard of mid-range devices. Only if promoting a 108 Megapixel camera let the camera be good and useful, again when there is only one main sensor with two additional sensors is just a gimmick.
Close focus
Maximum zoom
Daytime auto mode
Neat looking portrait mode
The Infinix Gt 10 Pro is a premium mid-range device with an entry-level camera. Colors often fade and rarely get bright and sharp results. The focus is not very good, the zoom is a bit weak, there is no ultra-wide angle support, but in portrait mode it looks good and neat. The night mode is like a dark picture with only increased brightness.
Auto mode with problematic focus
Auto mode with inconsistent colors
Night mode with the result that the brightness is only increased
Very soft selfies and slow focus
VIDEOS
Devices in this class have a video recording function "as long as there is". Making this Infinix interesting is that XOS offers an AI video editing application that makes every recording moment look interesting and gives quite creative video results along with its own soundtrack.
BATTERY
The battery is not very durable for a mid-range device with a capacity of 5000mAh. Usually gaming devices or devices that focus on performance can last up to 6-7 hours SOT. for normal use only such as social media, light gaming and a bit of video the GT 10 Pro only lasts around 5 hours SOT. Heavier use only lasts around 4 hours SOT if lucky.
Charging is 45W which is just fine as it supports Power Delivery which is easy to charge with most modern chargers. It took around 1 hour 55 minutes to full, if it was a bit faster maybe 65W I would be happier with it.
AUDIO
Stereo audio is pretty balanced on this device. Too bad it lacks definition with the resulting audio feeling grainy and dizzying. The bass is not deep, the clarity is not achieved and the high-pitched sound is very loud. The GT 10 Pro uses a DTS Sound system which should be good but maybe because the software is not mature enough or the hardware is of poor quality used for the price of this capable device, a sacrifice that everyone should accept.
IN THE BOX
Here is what is received in the box with purchase.
1x Infinix GT 10 Pro
1x box that can transform into a Woofer
1x USB-A to USB-C Cable
1x 45W Charger
1x Silicone protective frame
1x Set of manual/safety book
The box becomes a woofer, the lights turn on to the beat of the song
CONCLUSION
The Infinix GT 10 Pro is a solid gaming device that can be bought at an affordable price and is sure to leave competitors stunned. Infinix's offer in Malaysia challenges realme and Xiaomi who are ready to offer premium mid-range devices at affordable prices. Ad-free software, no silly apps, 8GB of RAM capable of providing high performance and packed with interesting functions are things that competitors still can't offer.
If you want to find a device with a unique design, you can play games without wasting time and at a price that won't tear your pocket, the Infinix GT 10 Pro is a device you must buy. One important thing you need to know before buying is that Infinix devices offer only 2 years of updates.
