iPad users have long wanted an Instagram app that doesn't rely on web browser usage, but Meta won't develop it due to the small number of users. While users of Android tablets or foldable screen devices are stuck with the Instagram app which is not user-friendly.
This will change eventually, as Instagram is seen to be testing an interface for large screen devices. Instagram is seen using a bar design on the side, where this bar is the same as before under the screen which is the main screen icon, search, create new sharing, Reels, user profile and there are two additional icons which are for notifications and also DM.
This interface, however, appears to be limited to users of the Samsung Galaxy Fold series only and is offered gradually to selected users. According to sources, this new interface has not been offered to any other Android tablets or even other foldable screen devices.
What do you think of this interface?
