The Department of Measurement and Mapping Malaysia (JUPEM) is now here with a new application, namely MyKiblat. As the name suggests, he wants to make it easier for Muslim users to know the Qibla direction before performing their prayers.
MyKiblat is said to be a scientific application that uses the coordinates of the user's device to calculate Qibla azimuth, prayer times and also the time of the sun's path over the Qibla line.
It comes with augmented-reality support – allowing the user to activate the camera and view Qibla direction through it. Apart from that, this application is also equipped with Qibla support for shade time which is displayed in the application.
Those of you who are interested, can download and use it today on Android and iOS. Based on our experiments, this app is seen as not allowed to be installed on some Samsung devices. Maybe this problem will be addressed by JUPEM in a future application update.
