After the government allowed Starlink to operate in the local market, the first location to receive Starlink services was UiTM Kuala Pilah. Today, the Minister of Communications and Digital, Fahmi Fadzil has confirmed the second location to receive the support of this service.
Starting today, 135 residents of Kampung Orang Asli Hulu Kemensah can connect their smart devices to the internet using the Starlink satellite internet network.
He said that until now, it was difficult for the residents of Kampung Orang Asli Hulu Kemensah to connect with the outside world, and with the Starlink service, it is hoped that it will help the residents of the village to communicate and interact with the outside world in various ways.
According to his speech, Fahmi Fadzil said that he has asked the Communications and Multimedia Commission to conduct additional studies to resolve connectivity issues for the long term by giving the example of building new telecommunications towers and fiber optic connections.
For now, it seems that the priority for the installation of this satellite internet service will focus on the three percent of populated areas that still do not have internet service.
