People need to be more careful and check the validity of information or emails received, so as not to become a victim of cybercrime. Maybank in a new statement on Facebook informed that a fake email has gone viral asking users to share login details and credit card information.
Through the email, users will be notified that a security update has been made, after which their account will have to be 'locked' for security and privacy purposes. Therefore, the user will be given a link to access to complete the login process, and will also be given a confirmation email.
Accordingly, Maybank advises the public to be more careful not to deal through these fake emails, while also asking them not to click on any suspicious links.
Maybank also said that authorized representatives will not share any suspicious links or arbitrarily ask users to disclose banking information.
Therefore, the public is strongly requested to always be alert and check the official website first before doing any scams to avoid becoming a victim of fraud.
