About five years ago many leaders were heard calling for programming classes to be included in the national syllabus. The ability to develop applications is seen as a necessary skill to steer the economic tide of the future. But not everyone has time to study. Many just have brilliant ideas that cannot be realized.
According to a report by The Information, Meta will launch Code Llama which is an artificial intelligence (AI) that can automatically generate code to help develop applications and software. Even more dancing Code Llama can be used for free to anyone who is interested. Code Llama was developed using the AI Llama-2 that was announced earlier this year and is provided as an open source.
This allows it to compete with AI that helps write code such as Github CoPilot which requires a subscription. For those who have an app idea but don't know how to write code, Code Llama is an interesting tool. Meanwhile for those who make a living writing code, it will threaten livelihoods such as careers in writing, photography and producing artwork that are now severely affected by AI.
