MEX Highway Activates Test of Toll Payment Via Debit Card

The MEX highway is now seen to have started a pilot test for toll payments using debit cards – as an alternative to Touch n Go. Through our own testing, it has worked in several toll plazas on the MEX Highway route, and operates smoothly.

A total of two terminals are provided, one dedicated to Touch n Go, and the other for Visa and Mastercard debit cards.

The government previously announced that 12 toll plazas will support the debit card payment system by September 2023. The highways involved are Ampang-Kuala Lumpur Elevated Highway (AKLEH), Guthrie Corridor Highway (GCE), Sungai Besi Highway (BESRAYA), Baru Pantai Highway (NPE), Penang Bridge (JPP), Butterworth - Kulim Highway (BKE) and Damansara – Puchong Expressway (LDP), West Kuala Lumpur Traffic Dispersal Scheme Expressway (SPRINT), Shah Alam Expressway (KESAS), SMART Tunnel, Kuala Lumpur – Putrajaya Expressway (MEX) and Duta – Ulu Klang Expressway (DUKE).
