Samsung SmartTag launched in 2021 as a bluetooth object tracker that uses the Samsung ecosystem. Rumors had previously said that the new model would be launched this year but it did not arrive during the launch of the Z Fold5 and Z Flip5 last week.
Today the new Samsung SmartTag design has been leaked after it entered the FCC database in the United States. The design is very different from the first generation as it is now oval shaped with holes for larger keys. On the body it still uses the Samsung SmartTag name instead of SmartTag 2.
No other information is known but it is likely to still use Bluetooth technology as well as UWB support for more accurate location tracking. Since it didn't launch alongside the foldable screen device last week, it's likely that it will launch alongside the Galaxy S24 series early next year.
