NVIDIA Said to Cancel Development of GeForce RTX 4090 Ti Graphics Card

With the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4000 series of graphics cards, NVIDIA has introduced a number of graphics card models with the Ti brand that show better performance than the original models. Previously it was reported that NVIDIA will also develop a GeForce RTX 4090 Ti model which should be their most powerful consumer graphics card.

However, the company appears to have canceled development of the graphics card, according to leading computer component leaker Kopite7Kimi on Twitter.

The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 uses the AD102 graphics processing chip which has 76 billion transistors, 576 Tensor cores and 144 Ray-tracing cores. It is seen that it still does not maximize the use of the surface of the processing chip, where many expect that NVIDIA will introduce the RTX 4090 Ti model.

However, although the graphics card will not be developed for now, Kopite7Kimi still says that NVIDIA will use the AD103 and AD106 graphics chips that will be used in the new NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 and RTX 4060 graphics cards. This is probably because NVIDIA's mid-range graphics cards are more popular at the moment.

In the meantime, NVIDIA is also expected to only introduce their next graphics processing chip around 2025, so if AMD or Intel introduce a more powerful graphics card in that time, technically they still have the RTX 4090 Ti that can still be developed.
