OnePlus Showcases Touch Screen Technology That Still Works Even When Wet

It is common knowledge that smartphone screens when wet do not detect finger touch well. On IP68 devices for example, when the device is immersed in water the screen is not responsive. It can be solved using the S Pen like on the Samsung Galaxy Tab S Ultra, offering a special protective frame and underwater mode on the software like Huawei.

OnePlus recently shared a promotional video of the OnePlus Ace 2 Pro showing that the screen can still be used even when it's wet. A system called Rain Water Touch is used for the first time on the Ace 2 Pro. OnePlus uses a special chip on the screen and an algorithm to detect the touch of a finger to allow it to work normally. In comparison, an iPhone 14 Pro with a wet screen is difficult to use.

Not sure if this device will be offered in the global market including in Malaysia or not. Perhaps this device becomes OnePlus' "lab rat" before being integrated into their flagship devices such as the upcoming OnePlus 12. Let's wait together.
