Over 50 Classic Neopets Games Are Now Playable In A Web Browser

Among the earliest online communities was Neopets which was launched in 1999. Users can collect virtual pets and enjoy dozens of Flash games on offer. With Flash no longer supported by modern web browsers since 2021 due to security reasons, dozens of games that were once played by millions of users every day are now unplayable.

Last week Neotopia Inc who now holds the Neopets intellectual property announced more than 50 classic Flash games are now playable on their website. This is done through the Ruffle plugin which allows games in Flash format to be played back on modern web browsers.

While playable, Neotopia says not all games run smoothly due to technological barriers. They also don't recommend playing it on modern smart device web browsers because it's not designed for small screens.

After bringing back popular games like Meerca Chase, Ice Cream Machine, and Turmac Roll, the Neopets website now finally supports HTML5 to make it even easier to access. For those who want to be nostalgic, you can visit the Neopets website now.
