OWC And Frore Systems Unveil SSD Systems With 64TB Total Storage

Frore Systems is a technology name that is new to the market, and is recognized for developing the unique computer cooling system that was showcased during the recent COMPUTEX Taipei event.

Recently, at the 2023 Flash Memory Summit, OWC, a high-performance maker of computer accessories and tools teamed up with Frore Systems to introduce Frore Systems' cooling capabilities through their Mercury Pro Dual U.2 and U2 Shuttle SSD systems, which featured a number of 64TB and 32TB storage.

For the Mercury Pro Dual U.2 SSD system, it is loaded with eight U.2 SSDs and eight Frore Systems AirJet chips in the system, and offers consistent data write rates of 2200MB/s to 2600MB/s.

Even though it only uses PCIe 3.0 data delivery technology, when compacted with SSD storage it will still maintain high temperatures, and this heat can cause storage performance to drop suddenly.

This cooling system, named AirJet was developed by Frore Systems which uses a cooling chip consisting of membrane fins that use electrical power and vibration of these fins to circulate air to these components.

With these eight AirJet cooling chips installed, it is seen helping this OWC SSD system to operate at a performance level of 90 percent of its ability over the long term.
