Qalbox is a video streaming platform focusing on Muslim content under Bitsmedia which is the company behind the Muslim Pro application. It was launched in Malaysia in December 2022 with a monthly subscription price as low as RM12.90 per month.
Qalbox was previously only accessible on the web or through the Muslim Pro application. Today Qalbox announced that their video streaming platform is now accessible through Astro Ultra and Ulti Box. This is part of Qalbox's move to make Malaysia a global content hub focusing on Muslims.
In conjunction with the introduction of Qalbox access through Astro Ultra and Ulti Box, 2 months free subscription specifically for Astro customers is provided, including with Muslim Pro subscription. After two months, Astro customers can continue to subscribe to Qalbox at a price of RM12.90 per month or RM3.32 per month if paying for a 12-month plan.
In Qalbox there is a variety of Muslim content offered. Among them are original content such as the documentary series I Am Muslim, children's educational videos Islam for Kids, local Al-Quran tadarus, Bilal 3D animation and many more.
Last June, Muslim Pro recorded 12 million total downloads in Malaysia alone. With this collaboration with Astro, they can further strengthen the idea of making Malaysia a global content hub. Previously, Qalbox had already collaborated with Maxis and Viu, in addition to receiving funding from Penjana Kapital and Bintang Capital Partners in the fourth quarter of 2022.
