Earlier this month, Malaysia's Ministry of Digital Communications introduced Rahmah's 5G Package which allows all Malaysians to register for a 5G postpaid plan at a price of RM60 with a monthly data limit of 60GB.
In the meantime, they can also buy 5G Honor X90 Lite 5G and Samsung Galaxy A14 5G smart devices at a price of only RM240. Today, during the official announcement of Rahmah's 5G Package, Fahmi Fadzil, the minister of Digital Communications confirmed some more details about this plan.
This includes the names of telecommunications service providers that will participate in this postpaid package, including CelcomDigi, TM through Unifi Mobile, Maxis, U Mobile and YTL Communications through Yes 5G.
Rahmah's 5G Package Plan will be introduced by each of these telecommunication companies from 31 August 2023 until 31 December 2023 through the website, and will come with a 24-month contract after registration. In the meantime, 5G smart devices purchased under this package will also come with a 24-month warranty as well.
For those who belong to the B40 economic group, the first 100 thousand buyers in this plan are eligible to buy these devices also at the price of RM120. For civil servants who have already subscribed to the existing postpaid plan, they are also eligible to receive a RM10 rebate every month, and will start this September 16.
This rebate does not apply if the telecommunications plan of civil servants is under a group subscription, because those plans already come with their own rebates and discounts.
