Two years ago Meta introduced the first smart glasses, Ray-Ban Stories. It is a sunglasses that integrates the Facebook social media platform. These glasses also support WhatsApp and have sold more than 300,000 units.
In 2025, Meta will reportedly come with new smart glasses with built-in screens. While waiting for this version, Meta may launch the second generation Ray-Ban Stories first as The Verge reported the leaked specifications of these glasses.
Ray-Ban Stories 2 is said to be able to stream live broadcasts directly to Facebook and Instagram. Best of all, viewers can whisper to Stories users while streaming. The battery is also said to last longer with improved camera quality.
The built-in speaker is also said to be louder. A security system was also introduced, where if the glasses have been modified, the camera support will be turned off. At the moment it is still uncertain when the second generation of Ray-Ban Stories glasses will be launched. Until today it is still not sold in Malaysia anymore.
