Xiaomi is now introducing another new basic specification smartphone, the Redmi 12 5G. For information, this model is different from the model introduced in Malaysia before, and comes with 5G network support.
In terms of design, it is more or less the same as the Redmi 12 which is already on the market in Malaysia. But, internally, it comes with a Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chip – making the Redmi 12 5G the first phone to use this processing chip and come with 5G support. It also comes with a 6.79-inch FHD+ LCD screen, memory support up to 8GB LPDDR4X RAM, storage up to 256GB UFS 2.2, as well as a 5000mAh battery with 18W charging.
On the camera side, it includes dual rear cameras combining a 50MP primary sensor, and a 2MP depth sensor, as well as an 8MP selfie camera. Redmi 12 5G also comes with IR Blaster support and also a 3.5mm audio jack.
For now, it is not yet known when the 5G version of this smartphone will be available in the local market. The existing Redmi 12 model with 4G support is available at a price starting at RM599 in Malaysia.
