Samsung today made a surprise and introduced a new application, named as Samsung Food. As the name suggests, it focuses on food, where this application offers a number of cooking recipes that users can try, as well as food planning in adopting a healthy lifestyle.
Samsung Food uses the Whisk database – one of the platforms that was taken over by Samsung in 2019. For now, the app on the Google Play Store is still called Whisk, instead of Samsung Food.
Using this application, it will ask the user to select the type of diet, as well as the food they don't like – then generate content that is appropriate for the user. From our experiment, there is no halal food option, but users can choose not to display recipes or food content that contain alcohol.
Using the same app, users can plan weekly meals, or record recipes to save and refer to – and share with others. A special section to list items that need to be purchased is also provided on this application.
Samsung also stated that they will integrate Samsung Health with Samsung Food - making it easier to manage a user's diet.
By 2024, Samsung aims for users to be able to use Samsung Food to take photos – and then it will display information related to it, including nutritional information.
For those of you who are interested, you can check the Samsung Food website, and download the application today for free.
