Device manufacturers rarely use titanium as a frame. The last time I used a device that used this durable build material was on the Essential PH-1. However titanium looks likely to be widely used starting this year.
We've already reported that the iPhone 15 Pro might use it, followed by the new iPad. Ice Universe recently reported that the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra will also use a titanium frame. It is expected to make this flagship device more durable and hard to scratch.
Interestingly, Ice Universe claims that the S24 Ultra weighs only 233 grams, 1 gram lighter than the S23 Ultra. Compared to the aluminum iPhone 14 Pro which weighs 240 grams, this new Samsung device may be easier to operate with one hand and more comfortable to use.
Let's all wait to find out if this claim is true. If so, we'll probably see more devices using titanium after these two giant device manufacturers get their start.
