Sony's audio products rarely disappoint us. What we like about it is the good audio quality and satisfactory noise cancellation capabilities. After more than two years since the WF-1000XM4 was launched, last month the WF-1000XM5 was introduced to the public.
Today the Sony WF-1000XM5 officially went on sale in Malaysia with a smaller design compared to the WF-1000XM4 which makes it more comfortable to use. Sony also promises better quality active noise cancellation (ANC). WF-1000XM5 also comes with a bone flow sensor to allow the user's voice to be heard more clearly when making voice calls.
The audio driver used is Dynamic Driver X. It supports high resolution audio, DSEE, spatial audio as well as SBC, AAC, LDAC and LC3 codecs. On each earphone there is a touch pad for control. Phone calls can be picked up by the user by just bowing his head. For quick pairing to Android users, you can use Google Fast Pair. Like the majority of modern audio products, the WF-1000XM5 supports tethering to two devices simultaneously.
For IPX4 standard protection is included so that it can be used during sports. Sony claims the durability of their new TWS can reach 8 hours and 24 hours with the charging pod. Charging can be done via USB-C or wirelessly.
In Malaysia the Sony WF-1000XM5 is sold at a price of RM1399 and is offered in a choice of black or silver. Those interested can purchase it starting today with the offer of a free passport holder given with every purchase and a chance to win a Sony ZV-1F camera.
