The 'Samsung Solve for Tomorrow 2023' competition offers a Grand Prize of up to RM30,000

The 'Samsung Solve for Tomorrow 2023' competition is now back to stimulate the culture of innovation and creativity among high school students, especially students in form 1 and 2 from all national high schools in Malaysia.

The interesting aspect about it is that it is an annual competition that encourages students' interest in STEM education which is based on four fields namely Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). At the same time also encourage students to create, think logically and use technology to solve problems in a real world context.

This competition also has the cooperation of the Universiti Malaya STEM Center which emphasizes research, analysis and teamwork. The organizers also provide enough equipment, resources and skills for the students to get involved directly, while hopefully being able to drive positive change through effective solutions for future challenges.

This year's competition is themed 'Start with Can' which focuses on three issues, namely 'Education & Learning', 'Environment & Sustainability' and 'Health & Wellbeing'. Access to the 'Education & Learning' issue will find entries that offer solutions to make education more inclusive.

While 'Environment & Sustainability' will cover STEM solutions in promoting sustainability practices, conservation and environmental responsibility. Next, 'Health & Well-Being' is a social focus that is important in promoting physical and mental well-being in the community.

All participants consisting of three students for one group have to present their innovative ideas and solutions in dealing with one of the stated issues. Descriptions are limited to 1,000 words only, which requires each participant to describe the problem they want to solve, then present a STEM-based innovation solution.

The announcement of the successful participation will be announced through the official website of Samsung Malaysia's Solve for Tomorrow next September. The successful team will also be asked to create a prototype solution that will also get help from mentors and experts in the Design to Win Workshop in December.

Registration is now open until September 22, 2023. What's more interesting is that by participating in this competition, students have the opportunity to take home great prizes as below:

First Prize – Samsung products worth up to RM12,000 to the school and RM6,000 per participant.

Second Prize – Samsung products worth up to RM10,000 to the school and RM5,000 per participant.
