The Screen Lock feature is starting to be offered to selected WhatsApp Web users

WhatsApp now provides another new way to protect user privacy through a feature called Screen Lock. It has been offered to selected WhatsApp Web users to try, whose access can be checked by clicking on the WhatsApp Settings > Privacy section.

It is also easy to use which requires the user to enter a password only to open WhatsApp Web. Interestingly, no notification will appear if there is a failure during the login process. Then if the password is forgotten, the user is still given the option to log in using the provided QR scan with the condition of having to log out first.

The introduction of this feature is considered attractive as it offers privacy advantages that prevent others from arbitrarily intruding on personal information without permission. Right now only select users can try it and it will roll out to more people in the coming weeks.
