This 9.94″ OLED Screen Can Be Trifolded For Use In Cars

Samsung and TCL have shown prototypes of their foldable screen devices for the past two years. However, its use on real devices has yet to happen since there is no demand for it at the moment. In Chia, the company Tianma Microelectronics has announced a 9.94″ OLED screen that can be trifolded specifically for use in car cockpits.

When in the open position, it can display navigation applications, music players and controls for the car's air conditioning system. It can then be seen on a smaller screen to avoid distraction to the driver. Tianma did not share whether this prototype will be sold to interested customers or just a concept.

There are various interesting solutions used by modern car manufacturers to integrate driving information systems, infotainment systems and vehicle interior controls. Samsung once showed a car cockpit concept with a giant screen that rolls up while Mercedes uses the MBUX Hyperscreen system that covers the entire dashboard.
