Vivo V3 ISP Chip Launched With 6nm Technology And 4K Portrait Video Recording Capability

Vivo has announced the Vivo V3 chip which is their new generation ISP. It is built using 6nm technology with an increase in energy efficiency of up to 30% compared to previous generation chips.

This improvement can be achieved through a combination of AI-ISP (AI Image Signal Processor) and second generation Frame Info Tunneling (FIT) technology, which at the same time also contributes to better algorithm performance. This improvement also promises a smooth integration process between the V3 chip and the main processor to reduce the time between shots.

In addition, the V3 chip also offers the ability to record 4K portrait videos with built-in post-production (also known as post-production) editing functions. This means users can shoot cinematic quality videos with bokeh effects, better skin quality and color reproduction. At the same time, can also adjust the blur and focus with better detail without damaging the original recording.

Through AIGC algorithm support, high-quality virtual content in portrait photography can be produced. A good experience is also helped by the Texture Color feature that allows users to freely modify certain colors on the image to be more unique. Not only that, also introduced is the new Origin Imaging Engine (VOIE) which is said to be able to improve image quality, color, tone and computing functions.

Meanwhile, the long-term collaboration between Vivo and Zeiss has also led to the introduction of several things. Among them is the new Zeiss T* coating technology which is said to be able to significantly reduce the reflection problem on the camera lens for clearer images. Then they also announced a periscope lens design with a new "Vario-Apo-Sonnar" standard to improve zoom quality and macro shooting capabilities.

The Vivo X100 will be the first device to come with this imaging chip.
